A Wonderful Christmas Time

Many stories can be told at Christmas time. Hallmark, Lifetime, Up, ION, Freeform, depending on your cable provider. These stories have happy endings before some sort of conflict as we get to the ending. Some good stories and some great stories along with some good endings and some great endings. That is television. I like television movies. When it comes to family and Christmas the stories can be great and have great endings and sometimes the stories are not so great and do not have happy endings. Last night my little family had a great story. We visited my Sister’s for a Pajama Party on Christmas eve. There were games like the one where you write down as many words about Christmas next to the letters from the alphabet. I had two minutes to write down words, I came up with ten, thanks to thinking of the song, twelve days of Christmas. I did not win, but it was fun. Next was some game where you unwrap Saran wrap that is in the shape of a ball. It is filled with goodies. My daug...

Super Bowl

It is Super Bowl Sunday. An unofficial end to the Holiday Season for some. It is the time that we see the newest commercials for television. It is a time to get a great deal on an HDTV is you need one. It is the time for putting the New Year’s diet on hold for a day.  It is also the time for a football game, oh yeah, that is what today is all about or use to be. It is now the day of the Puppy Bowl and the Kitten Bowl. It is a day for Hollywood and Advertising. It is a day for Beer Companies and Chicken Wings, oh and Pizza.  By the way, there still is a football game to be play by men who have dreamed of this game for most of their lives. The 120 or so men on both teams are in the middle of the best dream. They are playing in the Super Bowl and the winner will be the Champions of the NFL. World Champions! Enjoy the game, be safe and don’t forget, one of these men get to say “I’m going to Disney World!” tonight.

Politics and Television

It just seems like this process has been going on for a really long time. I appreciate having news as soon as possible but sometimes I think it gets out of hand. I also grew up with the evening news and the local right after. There were no cable news networks on 24/7. Back then the new was presented in about 23 minutes not counting commercials. National news was read at 5:30 pm CDT. That was all we needed to know then. There would be an interruption of your regular programming when absolutely necessary. Otherwise the national and local news was not delivered until the evening. Now we can get news as soon as it happens and sometimes as it happens. Many time things are corrected later because some things were not verified so quickly. I think it is great that we have news and media when we want it. I just wonder how much do we really need. How mu...
