 The last two weeks have showed us history that will be studied in the future. We had an attempted assassination on a presidential candidate. Then we had the Democratic presidential nominee, an incumbent, decide to not run. This opens us up to a possibility of the first woman president, that is African American. So, is the country ready for a female president? I would like to think yes, but I am not sure which side will come out to vote. I know what I would like to see, and I hope we get to see even more history that will be studied in the future. 

It is rigged!!! The election is rigged! This is the new argument that Donald Trump is presenting to his supporters. Elections are shaped by political ads and media every year. This is how politics work and have worked in the United States and other countries. This Presidential Election is not different yet it is different. Political ads are all over the media and the News media is placing the usual biases in their reporting depend on the Network. Social media is different; the internet is different. How messages are delivered to supporters is different. The main difference that I have noticed, how supporters are taking in the news, media and the messages sent by their candidates. The system is rigged or biased, like usual. The key is how each candidate is using the system to get out their message. Check the sources of your messages this election year and go vote.

In the past week, Donald Trump’s son, Eric, learned a valuable lesson. Two sisters that attended his event reminded him of his introductory Spanish course. One of the Sisters wore a t=shirt that said, “Latinas Contra Trump.” Now this is not a positive endorsement of Donald Trump. This t-shirt went viral after it was posted on Instagram. The lesson to learn. Make sure you understand the meaning of the words that others are using particularly in their context. Their words might mean something different in another language. In this case, Contra or Contrary, are the words. The most important for Donald Trump, is the learned about the others and how they communicate with each other.

Donald Trump has offended many people, including, Women, Minorities and Disabled people to name a few. He has had good numbers since he began his run for President. He somehow received forgiveness from those that support his Candidacy for these actions. Over the last month new revelations have come into the news. It appears that these news revelations have done little to the Candidate Trump. These revelations have hurt many people for a while and continue to hurt people. The question, that I have is how much more will we let this man get away with?…Is this who we have become?
